Irregular Heartbeat Murmur

As the battle cry sung by almogávares before the battle, so goes the name of the first specialized magazine in Military History of Antiquity and Medieval published in our country, and these days, coinciding with the exit to the street in his fifth issue, we celebrate the anniversary.

Desperta Ferro is the personal commitment of the "alma mater" of the publication, Alberto Perez Rubio, Carlos de la Rocha, Javier Gómez-Valero, insight into the historical periods for those who are passionate, moving to the magazine, in a pleasant tone but rigorous, experience and knowledge.

Each issue tends to be thematic, thus first explains the various points related to the decline and fall of the Roman Empire, the second number describes the Celtic world war and his vision from the Greco-Roman, the third shows the universe Scandinavian and Viking, and the room recreates the various sieges which has suffered the city of Constantinople. Topics from articles written by leading specialists, translated correctly understood by any layman, assortments of photos and explanatory drawings. The diversity of the same in every magazine, in conjunction with a central theme, even more interesting and useful for understanding in some depth the period treated.

But most paragraph impressed me Desperta Ferro is undoubtedly the graphics. It is here where publishers show their commitment to excellence in the evocation of types and situations that illustrate the text, faithful to the iconographic and archaeological record of the time. The magnificent illustrations found in each issue, are particularly educational for anyone who is interested in understanding the reality of war in antiquity.

Those responsible for the artistic quality of this publication are none other than our friends admired Daniel Cabrera Peña and José Ángel García Pinto (whose works illustrate this update), who along with some work of Dionisio Álvarez Cueto sadly departed, and the detailed map of Carlos de la Rocha and R. Alvarez, Ferro Desperta make a jewel editorial, off-and even above-Saxon publications envied those that marked an era.
